Yesenia Martin

Hi, my name is Yesenia Martin and I have been working in the medical field for the past 15 years. During my tenure working as an ER nurse, I learned that providing exceptional patient care needed to encompass the physical as well as the psychological aspect thus propelling me to pursue a career as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

I believe that where the mind goes the body follows, making a person’s mental health just as important as their physical well-being, yet so often overlooked. As a PMHNP, I want my patients to feel heard and understood. My goal is to establish a therapeutic relationship with each patient from the first initial visit and in every encounter thereafter.

Working at the community mental health setting for the past 3 years has equipped me with the skills and experience to treat a multitude of complex psychiatric clinical presentations and disorders including but not limited to Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.

I focus on treating the person as a whole rather than the disease process alone. I like patients to look at their psychiatric treatment as a journey rather than a destination. I provide mental health care across the lifespan and utilize psychoeducation with medication management to improve patient outcomes.
