My name is Shannon Beaton and I am currently pursuing my LCSW in Florida. I completed both my Bachelors and Masters of Social Work at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ where I received comprehensive training in family systems and child development. I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients and concerns. My experience has included a focus on anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, trauma, DCF-involved families, parental divorce, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, grief, behavioral concerns, low self-esteem, and phase of life changes. When working with children and adolescents, I emphasize the importance of a family-centered approach that allows parents and caregivers to become better equipped to regulate their children and strengthen their relationships. I find joy in incorporating play and art techniques with my clients; drawing upon art, music, and other experiential methods to help clients explore emotions and express themselves. I use an integrated therapeutic approach, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. I believe in empowering children and young adults to find their own solutions and foster positive change in a safe and nurturing environment. I am also a Certified K-12 School Social Worker in Florida and New Jersey.
